Autism assessment across the lifespan.
Many people reach adulthood without an explanation that fits. Others are asking about a young child for the first time. Both are reasonable places to start, and both deserve an assessment that takes the whole history seriously rather than scoring a checklist.
What the evaluation looks at
Social communication, sensory experience, restricted and repetitive patterns, and developmental history, alongside cognitive and language functioning. Autism co-occurs often with ADHD, anxiety and learning differences, so the differential matters as much as the diagnosis.
Adults are welcome here
Adult autism is under-identified, particularly in women and in anyone who learned early to mask. A late diagnosis changes very little about who you are and a great deal about what you can ask for, at work and in your relationships.
