Mental health and personality testing.

Anxiety, depression and obsessionality borrow each other's symptoms, and a diagnosis arrived at in a fifty-minute conversation can be the wrong one for years. Testing puts structure under the question: what is actually driving this, and what will actually help.

What the evaluation looks at

Mood, anxiety and obsessive-compulsive symptoms measured with standardised instruments rather than inferred, alongside personality structure, coping style, interpersonal patterns and how someone experiences distress. Questions it is often asked to settle include OCD against obsessive-compulsive personality, borderline features against mood instability or the effects of trauma, and depression against the exhaustion of managing an undiagnosed attention or learning difference.

Who it is for

Adults and adolescents who have collected several diagnoses that do not cohere, or who have been in treatment that is not working and want to know why. Treating clinicians who want the diagnostic picture settled before choosing an approach. People facing a decision they would rather make on evidence than on impression: a medication change, a course of therapy, a return to work.

What you receive

A written report setting out what was found, what it means, and what follows from it, and a feedback session to go through it in plain language. Recommendations are written to be acted on: which treatment approach the profile supports, what to raise with a prescriber, and what to watch. With your consent it can go to your therapist or physician.
